ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
March 18, 2008
Chairman Swangren called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Room at the Village Hall, 250 Williams Street.

Request for a variance to Zoning Code section 18.0409(G)(7) & 18.0702(C)(3). Mr.George spoke on behalf of his petition to build a new 2.5 car garage encroaching into the side and rear yard setbacks. A discussion was held by the committee regarding the placement of said proposed garage. Mr. Bowman commented on the letter sent from Cedar Point Park Association recommending approval of the variance request. Mr. Morava commented on the original purpose of establishing setback requirements thus maximizing the enhancement of the area. Morava stated his concerns regarding the approval of the variance for aesthetic purposes and the principal of holding fast to setback requirements. The committee recommended altering the placement of the garage thus satisfying the petition and the concerns presented. Mr. Henson will make a determination regarding the changes. Hopkins moved to deny the approval of the plan presented. Johnson seconded the motion. All aye. Vote 4 – 0.

There being no further business to come before the Board, Beckman made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Hopkins seconded the motion.
